Tematika

Medicinal plant biotechnology is one of the most interesing field of pharmeceutical sciences. The plant secondary metabolites possess very interesting and important biological and pharmacological effects. This course gives an overview of medicinal plant biotechnology describing the whole spectrum of biotecnological tools from cell culture techniques to the biosynthesis and accumulation of pharmaceutical compounds in the plants, genetic transformation, metabolic engineering, metabolomics, processes for the production of authenticated raw materials and quality control of materials for their safe and efficacious use. During practices, students make molecular biological and cell culture investigations.
