Topic
The course includes 8x2 lectures and 3 practices (2 + 2x3). The aim of the course is to practice the correct identification of medicinal plants including the main morphological characters, habitat, collection place, and therapeutical use of the species. The course gives a general overview on the most frequently used medicinal plants, protected and cultivated species, as well as various vegetation types in the Mecsek mountain and its environment. In addition, the effect and relationship between abiotic factors and secondary metabolites of plants are also discussed, which can provide recommendations for collection place and habitat of plants.
