On 22 February, the EXPO Center in Pécs hosted the International Evening of the University of Pécs, a celebration of cultures, traditions, and diversity, with a traditional dance and fashion show, and a gastronomic experience awaiting the guests.
According to Univpecs.com, Dr. Attila Miseta, Rector of the University of Pécs, and Liliana Rode, President of the English-German Student Council (EGSC) gave speeches at the opening ceremony of the evening. Both emphasised the importance of cultural exchange programmes and stressed that the university is not only an educational institution but also a meeting point of traditions and cultures. The International Evening, in turn, offers the experience of a lifetime for students studying far away from their home countries.
Students had the opportunity to showcase their country’s traditional costumes, and they also performed dances, theatre plays, and music pieces during the evening. Delicious food from around the world was served at the stalls of different nations. The official programme was followed by a huge party until dawn.
