Top honours awarded – PTE Faculty of Pharmacy researchers shine in the University Research Scholarship Programme

Researchers and students from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Pécs have earned prestigious recognition within the framework of the University Research Scholarship Programme.

Launched in 2016, the programme aims to support young researchers and ensure their long-term involvement in academia. At the award ceremony, Professor Dr. Attila Miseta, Rector of the University of Pécs, emphasised that the university's primary mission is to nurture talent, supported by scholarships and other financial aid. 

In 2024, a total of 170 recipients were awarded, including 9 researchers and students from the Faculty of Pharmacy. The awardees range from undergraduate students to PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers. 

Awardees from PTE Faculty of Pharmacy and Their Research Topics: 

  • Péter Béla Faludi: Investigating Possible Pathomechanisms Behind Reduced Fertility in Male PACAP KO Mice 

  • Máté Zoltán Szijártó: Examination of Ideonella sakaiensis Cultivation and Its Effects on Caco-2 Intestinal Epithelial Cells 

  • Dr. Ashraf Amir Reza: Comparative Evaluation of Artificial Intelligence-Based Drug Recognition Models, Data Requirement Optimisation, and Comparison with Human Drug Recognition Capabilities 

  • Lilla Nagy-Radványi: The Anti-Biofilm Effect of Combining Hungarian Honey Varieties with Antibiotics 

  • Dr. Levente Tyukodi: Physicochemical Investigations of New Drug Candidate Compounds in Pharmaceutical Research 

  • Dr. Eszter Csikós: Analysis of Natural Salicylate-Containing Preparations in a Psoriasis Animal Model 

  • Dr. Viktória Lilla Balázs: Investigating the Synergistic Effects of Tea Tree Essential Oil and Antibiotics Against Candida Strains 

  • Dr. Kitti Garai: Verification of the Anti-Lung Cancer Effects of Exercise-Induced miRNAs 

  • Dr. Arie Arizandi Kurnianto: Economic Analysis of Health Technology Interventions in Return-to-Work Programmes for Disabled Workers in Hungary 

The submitted projects cover a broad spectrum of scientific research, contributing new and significant findings across various pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and medical fields. Continuing these research projects is expected to further advance the scientific community's development.
