Dr. Krisztián Kvell, a distinguished researcher at the Faculty of Pharmacy – Vice Dean for General Affairs, Science, and Innovation of the Faculty, as well as the Deputy Director of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology – has recently received two significant professional honors. The expert, known for his decade-long of scientific work, was first appointed as a full professor and then successfully defended his doctoral thesis at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
On 1st of February, Dr. Krisztián Kvell received his appointment as a full professor, a milestone in his professional career. Due to his role in the university’s leadership and the research community, he has made significant contributions to the development of the Faculty’s scientific life for many years, with his research achieving outstanding results in the field of pharmaceutical biotechnology.
Following his appointment, another professional success crowned his career. On 4th of March he successfully defended his doctoral thesis at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The title of his dissertation was: "Identification, Utilization, and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Application Development of Molecular Targets Influencing the Thymus Lifecycle." His work was placed within the medical section's pharmaceutical biotechnology subsection, reflecting the growing scientific significance of the research area.
Renowned experts participated as reviewers during the defense: Prof. Dr. Emese Kiss, Prof. Dr. László Virág, and Prof. Dr. Attila Bácsi, while the committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Attila Mócsai. The professional discussion was accompanied by a lively scientific debate, where questions raised on-site were particularly emphasized, further enriching the interactive nature of the defense.
After the successful defense, Dr. Krisztián Kvell stated:
"It was truly rewarding to experience that our scientific results on the aging of the immune system attracted the attention of such an academic committee. With such a broad interest. We discussed many exciting questions, and I returned home with many new ideas, for which I am grateful."
